Sean Hayes, the gay actor best known for his role as Jack McFarland in NBC hit sitcom "Will & Grace" stunned the audience at last night’s Tony Awards by kissing Kristin Chenoweth on-stage at the awards.

The actor reportedly did so to prove to critics that he could convincingly play a straight man. An article in Newsweek earlier in the week had claimed that gays were incapable of effectively playing straight men. Hayes, apparently, has proved the critics wrong, with Chenoweth telling reporters that  “Sean Hayes can kiss!” after their romantic interlude.

“I know what you thinking. She’s too short for me.” he told the audience after landing the equally-stunned Chenoweth with the kiss.
