Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker turned heads on the red carpet of the MET Gala on Monday night when she wore a “Punk Couture hat” from famed Irish milliner Philip Treacy.

There was a punk theme for the annual Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala in New York City and the actress commissioned the Galway born designer to design the head piece for the occasion.

“He’s been working on it for the past few weeks,” she said, “and I feel incredibly fortunate that it’s in my custody and care.”

The 48-year-old is a big fan of the Irish designer and chose to wear his designs at the two Sex And The City film premieres in London.

Parker also wore a striking design by Giles Deacon and thigh high boots designed by Louboutin.

“We asked Mr. Louboutin to make these boots, just as a nod to the plaid, the flannel that we think of when we think about that particular period,” she said of her tartan boots.

Photographers later got an eyeful when the New York based actress flashed her underwear on the red carpet. The mother-of-three was photographed exposing her lacy underwear as she pulled up her Giles Deacon ball gown to reveal her thigh-high Louis Vuitton plaid boots.
