'Riverdance' creators Moya Doherty and John McColgan have a new show in the works.

'Riverdance' husband-and-wife duo John McColgan and Moya Doherty have begun work on their latest production,'Heartbeat of Home.'

Opening at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre in Dublin this fall, 'Heartbeat of Home' fuses traditional Irish, Latin and Afro-Cuban music and dance, with music written by Golden Globe-nominated composer Brian Byrne.

On Friday, McColgan and Doherty auditioned 20 dancers, who were selected in an online process, from Cuba, Russia, Australia, Spain, Canada and the US, the Irish Independent reports.

One of the dancers,  22-year-old Aoife Kennedy, was  the only Irish dancer to make the line-up. Kennedy, from near Skryne, Co Meath, and  a physiotherapy student from Trinity College, hopes to combine her studies with dance with a career in dance physiotherapy.

Irish dancer Ceili Moore, an 18-year-old from Sydney, Australia, was stunned that she received 7,000 votes online. She said dancing for the show would be a dream come true.

McColgan, speaking of 'Riverdance,' said he and Moya had not forseen the show's epic success.

"I knew we had something special – I certainly never thought we'd get 20 years," he said.

'Heartbeat of Home' opens on September 25.
