Is Shane MacGowan getting holy on us?
The wild child from the 70's MacGowan, otherwise known as the front-man of the Pogues has teamed up with The Priests to record a new Christmas song.
MacGowan and The Priests, global musical superstars and ordained Catholic priests, Father Eugene O’Hagan, his brother Martin and their old school friend David Delargy, have joined forces with MacGowan to record a version of “Little Drummer Boy/Peace On Earth” on their brand new album NOEL in stores now.
The original song was recorded by Bing Crosby and David Bowie in 1977.
O'Hagan said by teaming up with MacGowen showed "how music builds bridges and brings us into creative contact with unlikely partnerships."
The Pogues are most famous for their song "Fairytale of New York, featuring Kristy MacColl.
It was the Christmas number one song in 1987 and The Priests are hoping to hit the top of the charts this year with the duet.
The Priests, all from Northern Ireland, had a number five UK hit with their self-titled debut album in 2008.
