Pierce Brosnan to team up with Sarah Jessica Parker

Irish actor Pierce Brosnan

Pierce Brosnan has a high-profile project to look forward to in the New Year – he’ll co-star alongside a galaxy of stars, including Sarah Jessica Parker, Christina Hendricks and Kelsey Grammer, in the comedy I Don’t Know How She Does It.

The film will be based on the 2002 best-selling novel of the same name by British writer Allison Pearson.  Parker, shifting into post-Sex and the City mode, will play the lead character, a harried successful businesswoman and mother of two who’s navigating the competing aspects of her life.

Brosnan is reportedly down to play one of Parker’s love interests, though the Kate Reddy character is married in the book.  Filming starts next month, and as the book is based in New York, it’s a good bet that at least some of the shooting will take place in and around city streets.

The film is being released by the Weinstein Company.  Target date for the multiplexes is the end of 2011.

In other Brosnan news, Pierce and his wife Keely Shaye Smith are still trying to unload their old Malibu mansion with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean, because they’re moving into eco-friendly new digs not far away.

The asking price for the three bedroomed, three bath house has dropped from $3.9 million to $3.5 million, an LA real estate site reports.  But don’t fee too sad for the Brosnans – they scooped up the place way back in 1996 in foreclosure for only $600,000.

The place looks pretty fabulous, all high-beamed ceilings and pale walls and white furniture so typical of California cool.  The new place is undoubtedly even nicer.
