Saoirse Ronan's latest film “The Way Back” is already generating an Oscar buzz. The trailer for the film in which she co stars with Irishman Colm Farrell was released earlier this week and is already creating a stir.

The Carlow lady is part of an all star cast line up including well known Hollywood names such as Colin Farrell, Ed Harris and Jim Sturgess in her latest role in the action adventure movie.

The film is based on the book “The Long Walk” a memoir written by Slawomir Rawicz, a polish soldier. In the movie the 16-year-old plays a young Polish girl who comes across prisoner escapees and ends up joining them on their 4,000 mile trek to India.

Under the direction of Peter Weir the steller cast are expected to take home gold at the 2011 Academy Awards.

Ronan is no stranger to Oscar glory. In 2007 she was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in "Atonement" alongside Kiera Knightley.

Still in her teens the talented actress has become one of Ireland's most successful movie exports. Recently she recived an Irish Film and Television Award (IFTA) for Best Actress for her role as Susie Salmon in “The Lovely Bones”.

The Irish starlet was spotted filming in Central Park last Tuesday afternoon for her latest flick “Violet & Daisey” in which she stars alongside Gilmore Girls star Alexis Bielel.
