One Direction star Niall Horan will host two separate charity events on his birthday, 13th September. The Westmeath boy band member is heading home to Mullingar to celebrate and raise funds for Irish Autism Action (IAA) and the Temporary Emergency Accommodation Mullingar (TEAM), reports the Westmeath Examiner.

Horan will first host a golf classic at Mullingar Golf Club. Keith Duffy, formerly of Boyzone, and a champion of IAA, will help him host the second event held at Mullingar Park Hotel. Guests will enjoy refreshments and entertainment as well as a chance to win VIP tickets for the next One Direction tour.

Horan said he was “delighted and honoured” to be able to give back to his community and hopes that both events will be successful and fun for all involved.

IAA is an umbrella organization formed in 2001 by families of autistic children to implement positive change in the lives of those affected by autism and to raise awareness and understanding about the effects of autism.

TEAM provides support for the homeless in the Meath area. The residential hostel, Teach Failte, offers security and dignity to those in emergency homeless situations and operates 24/7.

Tickets for the Golf Classic are available by emailing philip@autismireland.ie or by calling 044 9331609 and cost €800. Tickets for the second event cost from €75 and are available on www.Pigsback.com and the website will host a competition for members to win VIP tickets to Horan’s charity events.
