The One Direction singer- who is a huge sports fan - is reportedly taking a complete break from the music world during his band's hiatus in order to focus on a new player management firm.

A source told The Sun: It’s well known Niall loves golf and has been learning from the best out on tour with Rory McIlroy. Now he wants to discover exciting new players and give them his backing.

"[Account manager] Mark McDonnell is an absolute legend in the industry and will help him with endorsement. It’s early days but he’s committed."

Niall is believed to be setting up the agency with One Direction's management company Modest, under the name Modest Golf Management.

At the moment, Niall is taking some time off from work and enjoyed a break in Australia for the past few weeks before flying to Bali over the weekend.

Meanwhile, although Niall is working with One Direction's management company, Harry Styles recently signed with Jeffrey Azoff at CAA and will no longer be represented by Modest.

Modest executives Richard Griffiths and Harry Magee said: "We wish Harry the very best. It has been a real pleasure working with him...Harry is a total gentleman, and we know our good friend Jeffrey Azoff will look after him. We look forward to sharing some great wine with them next time we are in LA."
