Nadine Martin and Jan Gaca top podiums at British National Irish Dancing Championships Saturday

Doherty's Nadine Martin topped the podium for Senior Ladies at the British National Irish Dancing Championships, with renowned competitors Claire Greaney and Simona Mauriello placing second and third, respectively.  Martin placed second after the United States' Olivia Griffin in the Ladies 20 and Over at both the World Irish Dancing Championships and the recent North American National Irish Dancing Championships.  This was Martin's first time competing in the Senior Ladies category.  She is from the Midlands region, England/Wales.

Jan Gaca, the 2012 All Ireland Irish Dancing Champion, is also the 2012 Senior Men's British National Irish Dancing Champion.  Gaca dances with Ceim Oir in Southern England and placed second at the World Irish Dancing Championships after the United States' Michael Holland.
