Get ready to be up close and personal with the performers of Lord of the Dance. Michael Flatley's international dancing phenomenon is set to return to the Las Vegas Strip this summer for a special limited engagement in an especially intimate venue.

The Irish dance show, which performed 2,000 shows during its last five and a half year run in Vegas, will bring its eclectic blend of Celtic dance to the 425-seat Steve Wyrick Theatre at Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood.

The dancing begins June 25 with summer performances through August 16.

“This intimate theater setting for Lord of the Dance is one of the most incredible audience opportunities I have ever seen in my 11 years of working with this remarkable show,” said Bob Cayne, promoter and president of Global Entertainment Group.

“Las Vegas will be the only place in the world to experience this stunning and energetic Irish dancing, dramatic music, colorful costumes up close and personal.”

Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance ended its last hugely successful Vegas run in April 2004. The touring production has played in more than 300 cities, 67 countries and traveled a distance equivalent to circling the world three times.

Irish dancing legend Flatley opened the show, which is known for helping to catapult Irish dancing into the global spotlight, in Dublin in 1996. As creator, producer and artistic director, Flatley, who originated the role of the Lord, continues to oversee all aspects of the production.

The Lord of the Dance troupe features Irish dance champions from around the world.

The story is a classic tale of good vs. evil based on old Irish folklore as Don Dorcha, the Dark Lord, challenges the Lord of the Dance.

It is also a passionate love story that is expressed through dance numbers that transport audiences into a mystical and exhilarating world of intense passion.

The action is played out over 21 scenes, on a grand scale of precision dancing, dramatic music, colorful costumes and state-of-the-art staging and lighting.
