Michael Flatley has confirmed he will launch his own dance academy in the coming months.

The Riverdance star, who finally hung up his dancing shoes after a farewell tour earlier this year, will kickstart his 'Michael Flatley Dance Academy' in London in September.

The 57-year-old Irish-American then plans to expand internationally in the next five years - which could mean his classes will become available in Ireland.

As reported in The Stage, classes - ranging from beginner to advanced levels - will be taught by experienced Lord of the Dance performers.

The dance ace said: "After touring the world for over 20 years and seeing the joy on people's faces, I'm delighted to open the first ever Michael Flatley Dance Academy, that will teach my unique show style Irish dance techniques to children and dancers of all ages and genres."
