We failed to mention a couple of weeks back that TV judicial queen Judge Judy was in Dublin for a ceremony in which she was named vice president of the Law Society at University College Dublin.

The feisty judge, whose half-hour courtroom show is seen by millions around the world, said she was honored to be back in the Emerald Isle.

“It's great to be back for a return visit to Ireland. My husband and I vacationed here several years ago and were so impressed with the people, the rich history, the terrific pubs and amazing sites. This time we plan to see more of the beautiful countryside and magnificent coastline,” she said.

JJ, supposedly the highest paid TV personality at $45 million per year, paid tribute to the Irish sense of spirit in an interview with Newstalk radio.

“My sense of the Irish people is that they are direct, no nonsense and not a lot of BS,” she said.

“I think they get that in my personality. They find that relatable.  They don’t have to figure out where I’m going.”
The Irish, she added “feel comfortable with the idea of hard work and responsibility and taking care of yourself and taking care of your family. Folks here get it.”

She also went on to praise the recently departed Maggie Thatcher – a move that many Irish undoubtedly won’t get.
