Jim Carrey is set to appear in the season finale of “The Office” joining a host of guest stars for the 50-minute long special.

Series creator Rickey Gervais will guest star in the finale alongside Ray Romano, James Spader and Catherine Tate.

As Steve Carell prepares to leave the show after seven seasons, speculation is mounting regarding his replacement. Producers of the show have tried to create a massive mystery as to who will replace the boss. Will Ferrell has temporarily taken over playing the role of DeAngelo Vickers.

Executive producer Paul Lieberstein, recently revealed that current stars of the show are also in the running to for the part.

John Krasinski, the series star recently told HitFix.com about his excitement about the change.

"The show sans-Steve it's a whole new show so we're actually really excited," he said. "The last two episodes this year are without Steve and without Will and they were awesome. They were really, really fun and as much as we will miss Steve for sure it's kind of great to pick up this show in a whole different way. It's really fun."  .
