Jason Clarke of Zero Dark Thirty and The Great Gatsby fame is reportedly set to join the cast of Child 44, a 1950s Soviet-era thriller, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The cast of the film already features such talent as Tom Hardy, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Noomi Rapace. Clarke’s addition to the ensemble further increases the already potent star power of the production.

The film, produced by Ridley Scott, marks a reunion between Hardy and Dark Knight Rises co-star Gary Oldman. This film also marks the second time Clarke appears alongside Oldman, who both feature in next year’s The Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.

Child 44 follows Tom Hardy in the lead role of Leo Demidov, a former war hero who begins to investigate a string of child murders, prompting the government to strip him of rank and title and do their best to silence him in an attempt to maintain the Utopic ideal.

Clarke would play “a snaky man named Brodsky who is accused by Hardy of being a traitor,” relates THR.

Clarke has been gaining momentum in Hollywood after his breakout role alongside Jessica Chastain in Zero Dark Thirty, picking up gigs ranging from thrillers to biopics.

Child 44 is currently in production and is stated for a 2014 release according to IMDB.
