Louth native Evanna Lynch, who plays Luna Lovegood in the “Harry Potter” series, has been nominated for her first ever award.

Lynch has been nominated for Best Supporting Actress for “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” at Spike TV’s SCREAM Awards.

The talented Irish actress will go up against Ashley Greene of “Twilight,” Carla Gugino of “Watchmen,” and in TV, Rutina Wesley of “True Blood,” Shirley Manson of “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” and Jennifer Carpenter of “Dexter.”

The SCREAM Awards celebrate the best in horror, sci-fi and fantasy in movies and TV. 2009 marks the 4th annual awards ceremony, which will take place on Saturday, October 17 in L.A., and will air on Spike TV Tuesday, October 27 at 10 p.m (ET)

Other “Harry Potter” stars are up for awards along with Lynch.

Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe, is nominated for Best Actor in a Fantasy Film, while Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) is up for Best Actress, and the third member of the Potter trio, Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley), is nominated for Best Supporting Actor.

Helena Bonham Carter, who plays the evil Bellatrix Lestrange, is up for Best Villian.

The movie itself is nominated for Best Fantasy Film, Best Sequel, Best Special Effects and Holy S***! Scene of the Year for the opening, action-packed Death Eater scene involving the Millennium Bridge in London.
