Actor Simon Delaney has just nailed down his most high profile role to date with a comedic role in major Hollywood movie “Starbuck” opposite A list star Vince Vaughn, according to the Irish Independent.

The Dublin man cannot believe his luck and insists that he got the part purely by being in the right place at the right time.

He said “I had a few days off and just turned up to meet the casting agent. I was amazed when I got the call yesterday to say I had the role.”

“Starbuck” is set to be one of the hit comedies of 2013 and stars Vaughn as a man who is shocked to discover that he has fathered 533 children through being a sperm donor. Delaney is scheduled to play his brother.

Speaking to TV3.com, he said of his role, “I’m amazed because I’m playing Vince’s brother, a New Yorker who works in the family meat packing business. There’s nothing Irish about it.”

Delaney’s star has been rising in the past year with a noteworthy appearance in the US hit show “The Good Wife” but he insists he still never imagined he would get anything like this.

He said “I’ve come close to getting big roles before but finally I’ve landed something on a scale beyond my wildest dreams.”
