In his most recent film, ‘The Fitzgerald Family Christmas’ director, screenwriter, and actor Ed Burns returns to Long Island and reconnects with his Irish American roots.

In ‘The Fitzgerald Family Christmas’, siblings now grown to adulthood cope with their wish for their estranged father, who walked out twenty years ago, to return home for the first time for Christmas. Their father does come home and his arrival brings up many complicated emotions among his children. Old wounds are reopened and family members makes alliances amongst themselves. Out of all the hurt, the family finds a chance for forgiveness.

Burns, who is known for his popular film ‘The Brothers McMullen,’ which also looks at the working class, Irish American family, both directed and wrote the screenplay for the film. ‘The Fitzgerald Family Christmas” also reunites McMullan stars Connie Britton and Michael McGlone. Noah Emmerich (Little Children, Beautiful Girls) and Kerry Bishe (Newlyweds, Red State) starr in the film.

Geoffrey Gilmore, Chief Creative Officer of Tribeca Enterprises said, “Deeply felt performances from a strong ensemble cast make the Fitzgeralds a family that recalls the McMullen’s but with a fresh and wry perspective  all its own.”
