Yankees captain Derek Jeter and his partner, actress Minka Kelly, have reportedly told their friends and family to “save the date” for their wedding this fall.

The Irish-American couple, who has been dating since 2008, are “secretly engaged,” a source close to the pair told the New York Post's Page Six.

"The wedding is being planned and will take place after baseball season is over," the insider said.

However, in the past, the duo’s reps denied that the two were dating at all.

A rep for Kelly, a third generation Irish American with roots in County Down and star of hit TV series “Friday Night Lights,” said, "There is no fall wedding planned to Derek Jeter."

Jeter, who traces his Irish lineage through his mother, has had high profile relationships in the past with celebrities Jessica Biel and Mariah Carey.

The Yankees star, who owns four World Series rings, is having a standout year for the Bombers and is sure to be there of thereabouts when the MVP for the year is announced. Earlier this season, Jeter passed Luis Aparicio's record for most hits by a shortstop and is future Hall of Fame player.

Kelly, the only child of former Aerosmith guitarist Rick Dufay, has dated musician John Mayer and actors Donald Faison and Chris Evans in the past, but might have found the "one" in baseball legend Jeter.
