David Geutta has announced he intends to collaborate with U2 in the near future.

The French DJ told MTV news that after a conversation with U2 front man Bono, he will be joining forces with the Irish band for their upcoming album.

"We met with Bono, and I was really excited, really honored because he proposed me to maybe produce some tracks for the next U2 album," Guetta said.

Geutta is the man behind global hits like the Akon-assisted "Sexy Chick" and the Black Eyed Peas pop anthem "I Gotta Feeling".

The musician said he was looking forward to broadening his horizons as he begins work with one of the biggest rock bands in the world.

"I've been more and more open to different styles of music, and obviously electronic music is still my main thing, but I just love music. If it's good, it doesn't matter what style," he said.

"After those collaborations with all these urban artists, I thought it would be a real challenge for me to try to go in that direction."

The DJ revealed he has already started working on potential tracks: "I started a few ideas already, yes," he said.
