The legendary Bruce Springsteen and his E Street Band have chosen Kilkenny in Ireland as their location to close out the European leg of their Wrecking Ball tour.

TheJournal.ie
reports that Springsteen will be offering fans a weekender blowout that will not only feature the The Boss’s musical stylings, but will also put on feature a number of Irish acts.

On Saturday July 27, Glen Hansard and Patrick Dempsey will take the stage before Bruce, and on Sunday July 28, Imelda May and LAPD (Liam O’Flynn, Andy Irvine, Paddy Glackin and Dónal Lunny) will get their chance to rock Nowlan Park prior to Springsteen.

Concert goers will certainly be getting some bang for their buck with one day ticket prices slotted at €90 general admission or €100 seated.

Even further, the weekender event is looking to accommodate fans by hosting special bus services between Kilkenny and Dublin. Doors at Nowlan Park will open each day at 12:30pm.

The Mayor of Kilkenny, Cllr Sean Ó hArgáin, told The Irish Times that "It would be huge for Kilkenny if Springsteen comes - we’ve already had Bob Dylan and Paul Simon here and as a huge Springsteen fan, I would be absolutely delighted and for one weekend, Brian Cody can stand aside and Bruce can be the Boss in town.”

Prior to heading for Kilkenny to close out the European tour, Springsteen will be making stops in Belfast, Cork and Limerick.

Springsteen was last in Ireland at a Dublin gig in July. He had his first Irish show at Slane Castle all the way back in 1985, where he opened the concert with a fan-favorite, ‘Born in the USA.’
