The Irish Arts Center will present its beloved annual musical celebration ‘An Irish Christmas’ from December 7-22 at the Irish Arts Center in Manhattan.

Now in it’s sixth consecutive year, 'An Irish Christmas' will run for for 13 performances at the Irish Arts Center (553 West 51st Street, between 10th and 11th Avenues) from Friday, December 7 – Saturday, December 22. 

Irish Arts Center will present a special performance of ‘An Irish Christmas’ at Fordham in a special event to be recorded for broadcast on WFUV.  This performance is in addition to the annual run of the show at Irish Arts Center in Manhattan.

The performance will take place at the Fordham Preparatory School at Fordham University’s Rose Hill campus (2690 Kazimiroff Blvd aka Southern Blvd. Bronx, NY 10458) on Sunday December 9th at 3pm. Tickets for the Fordham University event are $35, with a limited number of VIP tickets available for $250, which include preferred seating at the concert, and cocktails and buffet dinner with the artists at McGinley Hall.  Discounted parking will be available at the campus garage off Southern Kazimiroff Blvd.

The joyous annual seasonal celebration is hosted by traditional Irish music legend Mick Moloney. It features an eclectic mix of tunes ranging from the traditional to the contemporary, including such titles as “The Holly, She Bears a Berry”, “Christmas in the Trenches”, and “The Bushes of Jerusalem” as well as sing-along favorites such as “The Wren Song” and “Miss Fogarty’s Christmas Cake”.

World-famous fiddler Athena Tergis (Riverdance) joins an incredible lineup of musicians, including Moloney on banjo, mandolin and vocals, button accordionist Billy McComiskey, singer/fiddler Liz Hanley, dancer Niall O’Leary and numerous special guests, including singers Tamar Korn and Grace Nono, and storyteller Macdara Vallely. 

Each show at the Irish Arts Center will also feature a performance, interview or story from a featured special guest. In past years guests have included Gabriel Byrne, Christine Quinn, Colum McCann, Ellen McCourt, Isaiah Sheffer, Susan McKeown, Michael Patrick McDonald, and Bill Whelan.
