Aertv, an Irish online TV platform, has just launched Ireland’s only Live and Video on demand Sports platform. Aertv SportsLive will give Irish sports the opportunity to show their events to a worldwide audience with fans able to access the content for free.

Aertv has covered over 30 sports and over 300 games since their first live sporting event in July 2012 (a live stream of Ireland v South Africa in association with Irish Hockey). The site gets an average 500,000 streams per month with live Sport being the number 1 driver of traffic with over 30% accessing the service on mobile devices.

Aertv Sports are currently viewed in 180 countries. The company has strategically positioned themselves in the online sports broadcasting industry in Ireland by working with organisations including Cricket, Basketball, Squash, Tennis, Badminton and clubs including St Mary’s, Blackrock, Clontarf and Terenure to achieve TV coverage online like never before.

Philippe Brodeur, director of Aertv said, “Irish sports are often under-represented by the traditional broadcasters. We want to provide a platform for all sports in Ireland and share their passion. Aertv SportsLive can provide fantastic exposure and promotion for all Irish sports both home and abroad. In the current climate, sporting bodies need to move away from the expense of traditional TV methods. We offer the ability to broadcast professional sporting events on a budget, it’s a no brainer and the fans love it!”

The new Aertv SportsLive brings together all sports on one platform. Organisations and clubs have the ability to own their own page, interact with Social Media and attract advertisers and sponsors with their online video to monetize their content. Each sport can take control, increase their reach worldwide and gain TV exposure by signing up to the new service. “It allows them to keep in touch with their diaspora and grow their base” continues Brodeur.

Aertv's existing online TV platform currently offers Irish terrestrial channels for free on its basic package with consumers able to access up to 26 channels including premium channels, such as BBC, on Aertv Plus for €5.99 per month. These packages are now accessible on the iPad and iPhone app with free download from the iTunes store. Magnet Broadband customers can also access up to 34 channels, including MTV and Comedy Central, through the new Aertv app for €2.99 per month.
