Ireland’s Abbey Theatre will present the U.S. premiere of "Maeve’s House," a delightful and poignant show about the life and writing of Maeve Brennan, at the Irish Arts Center (IAC) in New York from October 17 – November 3.

Written and performed by the much-loved Irish theater artist and popular actor Eamon Morrissey, "Maeve’s House" is directed by Gerard Stembridge and comes to the Irish Arts Center direct from the Dublin Theatre Festival.

"Maeve’s House" was commissioned by the Abbey Theatre, which was most recently in New York in January 2011 with Ibsen’s "John Gabriel Borkman" at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. This marks the first time that the Abbey will present at the IAC.

"Maeve’s House" runs off-broadway for 17 performances at the 99-seat Irish Arts Center (553 West 51st St, New York).

It previews from Thursday, October 17th and runs until Sunday, November 3rd with the official opening on Sunday, October 20th.

Performances are Wednesday – Saturday at 8 pm each week, with matinees on Saturdays at 2 pm and Sundays at 3 pm.

Aideen Howard, Literary Director at the Abbey Theatre said: “Maeve’s House is a beautiful sensitive exploration of Maeve Brennan’s writing and in telling her story, Eamon also gives us extraordinary insights into his life and work as an artist.”

Tickets are $35 ($28 for IAC Members) and can be booked online at irishartscenter.org or by calling 866-811-4111.

Tickets from $28 are available online at www.irishartscenter.org or by calling 866-811-4111
