The Irish Water controversy has become the leading focus in the Irish media – social, print and online – this past week.

When 120,000 people took to the streets across the country on Saturday it was a clear signal that the issue had reached boiling point – excuse the pun.

Of course this also meant that social media became involved among which were three offerings we thought were especially timely.

The first was a new YouTube showing what happens when authorities decide to move on charging for air as well as water.

The second was an outtake from “The Field” one of the great Irish plays and a movie starring Richard Harris.

Except in this case the Bull McCabe’s speech gets dubbed over.

Finally, a hidden camera crew from RTE, Ireland’s national TV station, arrives to install a monster water meter in an unsuspecting woman’s house in Dublin (warning bad language).

Enjoy!
