Today is International Dance Day, and what better way to honor it than with one of the most stunning Irish dance videos we’ve ever seen?

Dance instructor Edwina Guckian, who also has an indisputable talent for making viral videos (see here and here), asked five students from her dance club Sean Nós ar an tSionann in Sligo to strut their stuff across the beautiful landscape of Strandhill.

Dancers Aaron and Ava Glancy, Roisin and Ceili Faughnan and Karen Tansey, two of whom are also now teaching their own classes at Sean Nós ar an tSionann, rose to the challenge, performing some fancy and fun footwork at the shore’s edge, on the beach, and atop some precarious looking perches.

“We had a week of beautiful clear blue skies and high temperatures last week in Ireland. Weather that made you want to go to the beach and eat ice cream! So that's exactly what we did and just danced in between,” Guckian told IrishCentral.

“The dancers all live close by to Strandhill and we spend a lot of our free time there so we knew it was the perfect place to record this year's international dance day video. I wanted to capture the fun and excitement and giddiness that Strandhill brings but also the surrounding beauty of Sligo and dance in the natural landscape.”

Last year, Guckian made an equally stunning video of her Leitrim students dancing in the wondrous Irish countryside.

“I'm hoping to work my way round to making videos of all the counties that our dancers at the club are from,” she said.

We can’t wait for more!
