Newly-leaked footage allegedly from the upcoming ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ film shows the Skellig Michael monastic site as Luke Skywalker’s place of refuge.

Skellig Michael is an island off the coast of Co Kerry and the home of a well-preserved 7th century monastic settlement. Filming took place on the UNESCO World Heritage Site this summer.

The clip supposedly showed the hooded Jedi Knight, portrayed by actor Mark Hamill, crossing the island’s rocky terrain and entering a dark cave.

The Irish Independent reports that the video had a Walt Disney watermark at the center of the screen and was quickly deleted from YouTube, adding to fans’ speculation that the clip was authentic.

Website TechnoBuffalo, which discovered the leak, reported: "It is shot on a cell phone looking at a computer screen, so the clarity is not the best. From the lighting and quickness of the images, this feels more like test footage than final shots for the film."

‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ will be released in theaters on December 18, 2015.
