The very talented Gavin James is set to play his first ever New York show at the popular music venue The Slipper Room next week.

The twenty two year old Dubliner singer songwriter, kicked off 2014 with two No.1 EP in Ireland followed by winning The Irish Choice Music Prize Award for ‘Song Of The Year’. His rise and development in his home market, has gained him sell out headline dates across Ireland and support tours with acts such as Marina & the Diamonds, Ingrid Michaelson, Kodaline, Nouvelle Vague, Beth Orton, Lianne La Havas and in March of this year he supported James Blunt on his sold out stadium tour across Europe.

Gavin's talent comes from his mother side of the family. His great, grandparents were both famous Irish opera singers and had their own album released in the early 1900’s. Gavin began to play guitar aged eight. After leaving school, James gigged around Dublin's cultural hub Temple Bar and quickly began gaining widespread attention. While working on his live technique, his confidence was growing also, ultimately leading him to sign his record deal and he now joins Good Soldier Songs impressive roster alongside David Gray, Biffy Clyro, Birdy and The 1975.
