When people outside of Ireland think of Irish music images of fiddles, bodhráns (pronounced bow-rawn), and, probably, Irish dancing come to mind.

But not here in Ireland, Irish music is music played by Irish people which includes all genres – folk, rock, pop, trad, et cetra, and that's what we will bring you on PLAYIRISH USA with IrishCentral.com

This week's playlist kicks off with Irish darlings the Delorentos, from Dublin. The band are touring Europe right now pumping out some of their famously great live shows.

Little Hours, from Donegal, follow as the one of the most popular brand new Irish artists right now.

The Henry Girls are next and also from Donegal. They are three sisters Karen, Lorna, and Joleen McLaughlin whose music has been described as a cross between Irish folk and Americana.

Cry Monster Cry, from Dublin, are brothers Richie and Jamie Martin, who play richly textured, harmony driven alt folk.

Hudson Taylor, again from Dublin, are an Irish folk pop duo consisting of brothers Alfie and Harry Hudson-Taylor (so folk and siblings are definitely a theme in this weeks playlist!).

Meltybrains?, Dubs again, are not related, and their song is called "Donegal" presumably after the stunning north-west Irish county.

Jape, Dubliners yet again (as are th rest of the playlist), are are an electronic rock band and have just released their much anticipated new album.

"Darling Arithmetic" is the third album from Villagers. An album we've all been waiting for (to be released in April). "Courage" is the first single and Conor O'Brien continues to wow audiences with his stunning lyrics and vocals.

Next we have hip hop, yes hip hop, from Hare Squead. They are 18-year-young rappers, musicians, poets, and artists.

Last but definitely not least, lovers of grunge/rockwill love Bitch Falcon. Bitch Falcon happens when Lizzie Fitzpatrick, Fia Nyhan-Kavanagh, Naomi Macleod, and Nigel Kenny play fuzzed-out hyper-grunge together...or so they say.

This weeks artists/songs are chosen for you by the radio DJs, heads of music, music journalists and music bloggers in Ireland, so you don't have to just take our word for it!
