Recently, members of the Omagh Thunder Basketball Club, a cross community club from Northern Ireland travelled to America. As part of their trip, the club travelled to New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia, Meriden Connecticut and Boston. The club participated in coaching clinics and games with local teams as well as some sightseeing. During their time in Boston, the team was hosted by the Watertown Division 14 Ancient Order of Hibernians.

Best of Luck to Shelly Walsh

Shelly Walsh formally Wexford in Ireland is become well known in the Boston area as a Boxer. She took up the sport about three years ago. She fights out of the Boston Boxing in Allston and her coach is Ed. la Vache.

Shelly won the Marciano Tournament belt in 2012 and the Central New England gloves in 2013/14 at 132 lb. She is heading to Kansas City, Missouri to fight in the World Ringside Tournament (July 28-August 2) where she will participate in the novice section. There will be teams from all over the USA, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Canada at this event. After this competition Shelly will be competing in the open class.

In her spare time Shelly still manages to play a little Gaelic Football and Camogie with the local Boston club and support the Wexford Boston Hurling team also.
