One of Ireland’s most celebrated female performers, Sharon Shannon, is performing multiple shows in Boston between August 6-8.

Shannon is one of Ireland's premier accordionists, traveling the world and bringing new fans to traditional Irish music. Her superb technique and feel for the traditions, along with her willingness to explore other musical traditions from around the world, place her as one of the most entertaining and inventive Irish musicians of her generation.

A native of County Clare, Shannon is a prolific awarding winning artist who was involved in the history-making A Woman’s Heart project . She is best known for her work with the accordion and for her fiddle technique. She also plays the tin whistle and melodeon.

The popular musician is no stranger to the city of Boston having played the festival at Stone hill college for many years in the early 90s . Shannon, is due to perform at The Burren Backroom on August 6-7 and will then appear at the Irish Cultural Center in Canton on August 8.

Speaking about her upcoming gigs, Shannon said "I am really looking forward to coming back to the Burren. The last time I played there was about 8 years ago! It is also my first time at the Irish Cultural Center in Canton."

Further adding "I am looking forward to meeting some old fans and hopefully making some new ones."
