If you have two minutes to spare today, use them to watch this beautiful video of Daniel Gillen, an exceptionally talented Irish American college student, playing piano.

Gillen, from New York, has been blind since birth and has been playing and studying piano for over 15 years. He performed at Carnegie Hall at age 17 and is now finishing up his last year of college at Haverford, outside of Philadelphia.

Daniel’s cousin in Ireland, Shane, decided to share this video of Daniel with the Irish men’s website Joe.ie, and it has received thousands of views since Joe shared the video on their Facebook page two days ago.

Daniel also wrote a bit about himself to go alongside the video:

"I am Daniel Gillen, born and raised in New York City and now a fourth-year student at Haverford College in the Philadelphia area. I am currently pursuing both a physics and music major, the latter of which I credit to over fifteen years of piano study in some form or another. I performed at New York's Carnegie Hall (aged 17) shortly before entering college in 2012.

“My piano repertoire has continued to evolve over the years, encompassing the likes of Chopin, Liszt, Brahms, Debussy, and other celebrated composers of classical music from the past two centuries."

Keep up the amazing work, Daniel! We hope to hear you play at Carnegie Hall again.
