Bridget O'Connor

Chief Information Officer
Lehman Brothers

As chief information officer of Lehman Brothers, Bridget O'Connor oversees all aspects of technology at the firm and the operational management of Lehman's global business continuity organization. With the top IT rank at Lehman Brothers, O'Connor manages approximately 6,000 employees and consultants worldwide, and is a major player in Wall Street technology. Under O'Connor's leadership, Lehman Brothers created LehmanLive, a web portal and central location for clients to access all applications - from research to trading to risk management - in a uniform way.

Born in South Amboy, New Jersey, O'Connor earned her associate's degree in computer science from Middlesex County College in New Jersey. She initially planned to work towards her bachelor's degree by going to school part-time, but was diverted from that goal by two challenging jobs - the first at an e-commerce company and the next with AT&T Bell Labs, where she spent six years. O'Connor joined Lehman Brothers in 1991, and 2002 was named the firm's CIO.

O'Connor is second generation Irish American and traces her roots to Dungarvan, Co. Waterford and Co. Tipperary.

She was named one of technology's Top Power Women by Forbes.com and one of the 100 Most Influential Women in New York City Business by Crain's New York Business.
