Women of Influence

Towers, Susan C.M.

SUSAN C.M. Towers is the co-founder of Omhu, a company that sells products that help support people’s abilities as they change throughout life.

She is also the chief ideas officer at NICE (New Ideas Creative Energy) Partners LLC, a consulting practice advising clients on positioning, media, communications, creative/social media, launch strategy and product development.

A native of Dublin, Towers says that Omhu aims to change the way people think and feel about aging and disability by bringing design and style to a category of products known as aids for daily living.  The company was launched in 2010 by Towers, Susy Korb and Rie Nørregaard.

After graduating University College Dublin in 1987, Towers moved to London and worked in publishing. She eventually won a green card in the lottery and moved to the U.S., which was always a goal.

“On a visit here, my sister took me up the Empire State Building late one night and I just remember looking over the city and feeling I had to live here.  I was excited about the career opportunities here and loved the energy of the city.  I feel the same way today!” Towers says.

Towers is a member of the Irish Business Organization in New York.  She says that being Irish “is an intrinsic part of who I am. I have a great love of storytelling, of literature and music that also feels very much part of my DNA.”
