ANN Murtagh is director of international sales for the Fitzpatrick Hotel Group in New York, which consists of two boutique properties located in midtown Manhattan.

“We are the only Irish owned and operated hotel in New York and pride ourselves on the personalized service we provide our guests,” says Murtagh, a native of Dublin.

Murtagh is a graduate of the Dublin Institute of Technology and the Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business at University College Dublin, from where she earned a master’s in travel and tourism.

“I moved to the U.S. two years ago. I always found Americans to be so welcoming, and New York City is the most exciting city in the world so it was an opportunity I could not turn down,” says Murtagh.
She is a member of several Irish American organizations in New York, including the IBO, In-NYC, the IIBN, American Ireland Fund, the St. George’s Society and the Paddy and Eithne Fitzpatrick Memorial Fund.

“I am proud of my Irish culture no matter where I am in the world. I love feeling that I am part of a strong, resilient, intelligent, witty and pragmatic people,” she says.
