McCormick, Caitlin
CAITLIN McCORMICK is the New York-based regional director of the American Ireland Fund (AIF).
The mission of the AIF is to be the largest worldwide network of people of Irish ancestry and friends of Ireland dedicated to raising funds to support programs of peace, reconciliation, arts and culture, education, community and development throughout the island of Ireland.
A native of Brockton, Massachusetts, McCormick graduated from Middlebury College with a bachelor of science in psychology. She is a fourth generation Irish American, and traces her roots to counties Cork and Cavan. She travels to Ireland once a year and is due to visit Limerick this month.
McCormick is also involved with the Irish Arts Center in New York, and Self Help Africa.
“Since working at the American Ireland Fund, my heritage, although always important to me, has become much more meaningful,” she says.
“I have had a chance to make a much deeper connection to Ireland and the people and am very grateful to have descended from such a great little country, whose roots are so prevalent still here in the U.S.”
