Gillespie, Maureen

As a director at Evins Communications Ltd. in New York, Maureen Gillespie oversees the public relations and marketing campaigns for well-known international companies in the lifestyle and beauty sectors.

Formerly a public relations executive with the Estée Lauder Companies, Inc., Gillespie’s communications career has focused on luxury goods, representing global brands such as Jo Malone and Donna Karan Cosmetics.

A founding member of the American Ireland Fund’s (AIF) New York Young Leaders, Gillespie has been instrumental in the conception, strategic vision and expansion of the program for over eightyears. In 2005, she was voted by her peers to serve as the Young Leader representative to the AIF’s New York Regional Board. 

From 2006-2010, Gillespie took on the role of AIF New York regional director, where she led the Young Leaders to achieve key successes, including raising over $1 million in four years, and establishing American and international chapters. 

An active member of the Irish American community, Gillespie is also a supporter of the Irish Arts Center. She was featured as a panelist at the inaugural U.S.-Ireland Forum in 2007 hosted by Irish America magazine, University College Dublin and the AIF.  Gillespie is a first generation Irish American with roots in Cork, Donegal and Sligo, and holds both American and Irish citizenship.

A native New Yorker, she graduated from Providence College in Rhode Island where she majored in English and history. She also spent a semester abroad at Richmond College in the U.K. 

A devoted yoga practitioner, Maureen also enjoys playing tennis, reading, golf and travel.
