Timothy Michael Shannon, MD is a venture partner at Canaan Partners, a Venture Captial firm investing in Healthcare and Technology private companies, providing investment capital and experience to start-up and early stage companies focused on innovation. Canaan boasts over $2b of active investments under management, 30 employees, 20 professional investors, and is based in Westport CT, Menlo Park CA, Israel and India. Shannon is also Director of Celldex Therapeutics, an oncology-focused biotechnology company, Prior to these roles, Shannon was CEO of Curagen Corpporation. A third generation Irish American, Shannon traces his roots to Cork, Kerry, Mayo and Tipperary. Shannon and wife Catherine have four children and reside in Branford, Connecticut.
