Schank, John H.

H. JOHN Schank, II has significant experience representing and counseling U.S. and international clients, and regularly appears before the state and federal courts of New York and New Jersey.
His primary areas of practice are complex commercial litigation, franchising and distribution litigation and counseling and real estate litigation.  His license, franchise and distribution practice involves channels of distribution, licensing, franchising, consumer law, trade regulation, price discrimination, trade secret litigation, non-competition clauses, and intellectual property protection.
Schank’s real estate litigation practice involves developer disputes, commercial lease-related litigation, brokerage litigation, and contractor/construction litigation.
Schank has also been appointed as Special Litigation Counsel to the Jersey City Municipal Utilities Authority on matters ranging from contract disputes to construction project counsel.
Schank attended Ramapo College where he received a BA in 1984 before continuing on to law school at Seton Hall University. He is a member of the Irish American Bar Association of New Jersey and of the American Ireland Fund.
The first generation Irish American is married with two young daughters. His mother Patricia was born in Sweetwood, Dromahair, Co. Leitrim. He traces his paternal heritage back to Co. Cork.
