O'Hanrahan, Ellenore

ELLENORE O’Hanrahan is the chief commercial counsel and principal at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in New York.
A native of Co. Monaghan, O’Hanrahan received a bachelor of civil law from the National University of Ireland.  She received a law degree from Yale.
O’Hanrahan was a member of the cabinet of the Irish commissioner at the European Commission in Brussels from 1982-’85.  Afterwards, she returned to the leading Dublin law firm, McCann Fitzgerald, where she did her apprenticeship.  At McCann, she was seconded to work for its client, Guinness Peat Aviation, in Stamford, Connecticut.
After finishing Yale and passing the New York Bar, she joined the law firm of Hughes, Hubbard and Reed.  In 1988 she moved to an in-house role as assistant general counsel of the Dun and Bradstreet Corporation, and assumed the roles of vice president and corporate secretary.
In 1996 she became deputy general counsel and secretary of the ACNielsen Corporation, and in 2001 she joined PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she leads the legal team within the office of general counsel that deals with all of the firm’s corporate and commercial matters.
O’Hanrahan and her husband have two children.
