KEVIN J. O'Connor - FOCUSING his practice on representation of companies and individuals in complex litigation matters in state and federal courts, Kevin J. O’Connor is a partner in the Connecticut and New York offices of Bracewell & Giuliani LLP.
He also practices in investigations conducted by congressional and state legislative committees, the Department of Justice, Securities & Exchange Commission, state attorneys general and self-regulatory organizations, including the New York Stock Exchange and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.
Before joining Bracewell & Giuliani, O’Connor was appointed and confirmed as United States attorney for Connecticut. Later he was appointed by President George Bush and confirmed by the Senate as associate attorney general of the United States, the third-ranking official in the Department of Justice. O’Connor also clerked for Judge William H. Timbers of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit from 1992-93.
O’Connor earned a JD with high honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law, and a BA with honors from Notre Dame.
O’Connor is married with four children. A second generation Irish American, his grandparents came to the U.S. from Co. Kerry in the 1920s. He was named Person of the Year by the Central Connecticut Celtic Cultural Committee in 2004.
