McGrath, Mike

Mike McGrath is the chief justice of the Supreme Court of Montana. He was elected in 2008. He is also the former Democratic attorney general of the state, having served two terms.
 
A native of Butte, Montana, McGrath earned a BA from the University of Montana in 1970. He graduated from the Gonzaga University Law School in 1975. He is a veteran of the Air Force.
 
McGrath has served as chair of the Conference of Western Attorneys General (CWAG) and the criminal law committee for the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG).
 
McGrath traces his Irish roots to Co. Clare. He was the guest speaker at the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick dinner in Butte earlier this year.
 
McGrath and his wife have two children and one grandchild.
