McCarthy, G. Daniel
G. Daniel McCarthy is the vice president, general counsel and secretary at Hewlett-Packard Financial Services Company in Murray Hill, New Jersey.
He graduated with a BA from the University of Dayton, and received a JD from the University of Notre Dame. McCarthy also completed the advanced management program at Harvard.
McCarthy was in private practice in Washington, D.C. and served as a federal prosecutor in Philadelphia before his work in the financial services sector. For the past 24 years, he has been the general counsel of three international financial services companies. His responsibilities include overseeing credit syndications, risk management, government affairs, and pricing.
McCarthy, a second generation Irish American, holds an Irish passport. All of his grandparents came from counties Cork and Waterford.
McCarthy frequently visits Ireland on business and has been instrumental in establishing several financial services businesses in Ireland.
He has also played an important role in establishing the Irish American Bar Association of New Jersey.
McCarthy is married with four children.
