James M. Lyons is a partner at Rothgerber, Johnson & Lyons LLP in Denver.
His area of practice is focused in complex business litigation and arbitration of all types, including corporate, securities and insurance law.
Lyons has more than 35 years of courtroom and jury trial experience in state and federal courts. From 1996 to 2001 he served as special advisor to the president and secretary of state for economic initiatives in Ireland and Northern Ireland, and did extensive work in 1998 in support of the Good Friday Agreement and subsequent work in support of business to business relationships between Belfast-based and Denver-based companies, particularly in technology and bio-medical sectors.
From 1993 to 2001 he served as U.S. observer of the International Fund for Ireland, a presidential appointment. Lyons is a third generation Irish American. His father’s roots stem from Co. Tipperary, while his mother’s family came from Co. Donegal.
Lyons is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and earned a JD from DePaul University. He is married to Marcia and has three children, John, Michael and Katherine.
