Byrne, Larry

LARRY Byrne is U.S. co-managing partner and head of the U.S. litigation practice at Linklaters LLP, a 2,600 lawyer global firm and the world’s second largest law firm by gross revenues.
Named a New York Super Lawyer in 2006, 2007 and 2008, Byrne handles white collar criminal defense cases as well as government regulatory and civil cases. He has successfully represented Deutsche Bank in a number of notable cases, including the Enron securities litigation.
Byrne graduated magna cum laude from Hofstra University in 1981, and received a JD from New York University in 1984.  
Before entering private practice, he was the deputy chief of the RICO section in the criminal division of the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. from 1992-’94, and prior to that served as an assistant U.S. attorney in the Southern District of New York.
A member of the New York City Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, Byrne is a second generation Irish American who traces his roots to Co. Wicklow.  He is married with three children.
