Lally Green, Maureen E.
A recently retired judge of the Superior Court of Pennsylvania, Maureen E. Lally Green dedicated 11 years to the court after being appointed by Governor Tom Ridge and confirmed by the State Senate in 1998.
Lally Green was a professor of law at Duquesne University School of Law from 1983-1998. After retiring from her position as judge, she recently began working as director of the Office of Church Relations for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh.
Lally Green was an associate with a private law firm, counsel to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and consultant to justices of Pennsylvania Supreme Court. She continues to lecture at Duquesne as an adjunct professor.
She has been the recipient of many prestigious awards, including the Anne X. Alpern Award which is the highest honor given by the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Commission on Women in the Profession.
Lally Green does extensive work with charities. She is a member of the boards of Auberlee House an education and housing project for dependent and delinquent children, the Epilepsy Foundation of Western/Central Pennsylvania and the Ireland Institute.
Lally Green’s paternal grandparents were both from Tourmakeady, Co. Mayo. She is married with three children.
