David R. Kelly is one of seven founding partners of Bowman and Brooke in Minneapolis. He currently concentrates his practice in defending U.S. and foreign corporations in product liability cases.

Kelly received an English degree from Hanover College in Indiana before receiving a law degree from Indiana University School of Law, graduating magna cum laude in 1974. He was also the note/comment editor for the Indiana Law Review from 1972 to 1973.

Kelly was featured in the Legal 500 United States for 2008-2009. Minnesota Lawyer honored him by naming him its Attorney of the Year in 2007. Also that year, Law & Politics honored Kelly by selecting him as one of its super lawyers.

Kelly is a member of the Defense Research Institute, the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association.

Kelly is a third generation Irish American. He is married with six children.
