Durkan, Jenny
Jenny A. Durkan is a Washington State Attorney known for both her successful trial practice and for her continued civic leadership. She has worked on a number of notable cases, including as trial counsel defending the election of Washington State Governor Christine Gregoire.
Durkan served on civic panels relating to police integrity and chaired the former Attorney General's Task force on Consumer Privacy. She also taught Trial Advocacy at the University of Washington Law School. A founding board member of the Center for Women and Democracy, Durkan also completed political training in Morocco.
She received her law degree from the University of Washington, and spent her Junior year of college in Dublin. Her grandfather, who immigrated to the U.S. in 1898, served in the Montana state legislature, as did her father, who became an Irish citizen.
