Theresa Hughes is a professor at Columbia University School of Law.  Her teaching interests are family law, criminal law, children and the law and juvenile justice.  Hughes also practices law part-time at the firm of Fanning & Hughes in Forest Hills, Queens.

Hughes was an assistant professor of clinical education at St. John’s University School of Law, and a director and co-founder of the university’s Child Advocacy Clinic.

Hughes received a BA from Manhattan College, a MA from Brooklyn College, a JD from the City University of New York School of Law and an LL.M. from Columbia University School of Law.
