Fitzgerald, James E.

James E. Fitzgerald started his law practice in 1975 and founded the Fitzgerald Law Firm in Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1982 with the cornerstone belief of helping clients find truth and justice.  By focusing exclusively on working with severely injured clients and families who have lost loved ones, Fitzgerald has developed a reputation for delivering extraordinary results.

With more than 30 years of experience, Fitzgerald represents plaintiffs in complex damages cases involving unsafe products, unsafe equipment, oil field matters, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries resulting in quadriplegia and paraplegia, burns and birth injuries.

He represented victims in the Wyoming Paxil case. He holds the record for the largest wrongful death judgment ever attained in Wyoming.

Fitzgerald’s trial record includes numerous multi-million dollar jury awards, and several records for jury verdicts and settlements on behalf of his clients. He has been trial counsel in nearly half of the million dollar verdicts in the history of Wyoming.

Fitzgerald graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1969, served in the military in Vietnam and then earned a JD from the University of Colorado.

Fitzgerald descended from immigrants from Cork.  Born in Colorado, he grew up in several states and was in Wyoming “when the roots went down” at the age of 14.
At 15, he went to work, paid for his education himself and had held 40 jobs before he became a lawyer.
