James Dougherty, a managing member at Dougherty, Dougherty & Vecchiolla, LLC in Greenwich, Connecticut, focuses in estate planning, probate, real estate, land use, elder law and taxation.
He is a member of the Greenwich Regional and Connecticut Bar associations. He is also on the Greenwich Catholic School Board of Education.
Dougherty, a fourth generation Irish American who traces his roots to Co. Donegal, celebrates his Irish heritage in many ways. He is the president of the Wild Geese, the vice-president of the Greenwich Hibernian Association and the secretary and founding director of the Irish American Museum of Washington, D.C.
He was the grand marshal of the 2009 Greenwich St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Under his leadership of the Wild Geese, the organization hosted the Royal Irish Academy of Music orchestra and began the annual Irish college seminar with Sacred Heart University.
A graduate of Iona College and the University of Connecticut School of Law, Dougherty lives with his wife and two children.
